“For the vast majority of homeowners, the responsibility for the funding of care in later life now rests with the elderly themselves and their families”
Funding residential care for yourself, or for an elderly family member, can be a complex and worrying matter. Understandably, many people who need long term care are often concerned about the cost and whether they will need to fund it personally or if they will be entitled to funding from the NHS or local authority.
We would like to invite you to attend a seminar discussing the issues surrounding later life planning and how you or your loved ones may be affected should long term care be needed.
The following events have been arranged:
22 November 2011 (View on LinkedIn)
10.30am to 12.00 noon at Marsh Farm Hotel, Royal Wootton Bassett, Wiltshire
30 November 2011 (View on LinkedIn)
10.30am to 12.00 noon at The Corn Exchange, Devizes, Wiltshire
There is no charge to attend either of these sessions. On each of these days, light refreshments will be available from 10.00am.
Our invited speakers include Andrew Douglas and Tony Capener, who will answer the following questions amongst others;
Who will be paying for my long term care needs?
- NHS versus Local Authority versus self funding
- The Care Needs assessment – will funding be available
- The Financial Assessment – will I have to pay
How can I plan my affairs to minimise the impact of care fees?
- Wills and Powers of attorney
- The importance of keeping control of your wealth
- How can I guarantee an inheritance
So if I do have to pay the costs myself, how do I make my monies last as long as possible?
- Financial planning in practice
- Maximising returns in the current climate
Our session aims to provide simple, understandable information about the financial and legal implications of funding long term care and how you can plan for it in the most effective and efficient manner. After the formal part of the session, our team will be available to explore individual issues with you on a one to one basis.
We currently have two seminars planned in the locality and, should demand outstrip available spaces, we shall be happy to lay on additional events to suit your needs. Numbers are limited at each session so to reserve a place on either of these or to express an interest in further sessions, please email or call us; early booking is advised.
We are not restricting these sessions to our existing clients and would ask for your help in publicising this further. If you know of anyone else, be they family or friends, who would like to know more about planning for long term care and may like an invitation please do let us know.
